CentrePort Canada is North America’s newest 20,000-acre inland port and Foreign Trade Zone (FTZ), offering unique access to tri-modal transportation (road, rail and air). Located next to Winnipeg’s James Armstrong Richardson International Airport, one of Canada’s top cargo airports, CentrePort Canada also provides companies with easy access to major national and international road, rail and sea corridors and gateways.
It offers businesses a selection of high-quality industrial land and space for sale or lease. Currently there are more than 2,000 acres of land ready for new development and 550,000 square feet of industrial space available in existing warehouse facilities.
CentrePort Canada is conveniently located in the central time zone, with well-established connections to important regional and international markets including eastern and western Canada, the United States, Mexico and Latin America, as well as Europe and Asia.
Opening October 30, 2011, the eagerly-anticipated Winnipeg James Armstrong Richardson International Airport will be a state-of-the-art facility that welcomes everyone to Winnipeg with a ‘wow’. Entering the terminal building, visitors are greeted with a vast check-in hall and an abundance of natural light. With floor-to-ceiling windows showcasing a constellation of 55 skylights, the entire terminal mimics an observation lounge. While in the facility, passengers are treated to sights of magnificent Manitoba landscapes and skylines.
North America’s newest and ‘greenest’ airport was planned to provide the ultimate in customer comfort and enjoyment. The 51,000 sq. m. terminal building has everything you would expect from a world-class airport and more.
The University of Winnipeg is moving ahead with an ambitious campus and community redevelopment plan that proposes a holistic approach to campus and community development that breaks down barriers between the university and the neighbourhood.
The project includes the Richardson College for Environment and Science, a cutting-edge facility, engaging students and faculty in innovative research and development in natural and social sciences with a focus on the global north, climate change, water stewardship, “green chemistry”, urban sustainability and indigenous science.
It also includes the construction of the Buhler Centre, a LEED Silver project that houses the university’s faculty of business as well as a contemporary art gallery and Stella’s Cafe. The development of the university will also see the creation of a new fitness centre, community daycare and 6,000 sq. ft. bookstore.
