There are approximately 3,600 people employed in aerospace manufacturing in Winnipeg and about 1,000 in air transportation support. The Manitoba Aerospace Association, from member surveys, estimates there are over 5,000 aerospace jobs in aerospace manufacturing.

The anchor aerospace firms represent significant expertise in maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) of military, commercial and business aircraft, as well as helicopters and general aviation aircraft. Winnipeg is home to the world’s largest independent small turbine engine repair firm as well as home to manufacturing firms specializing in aircraft structural components.
