Winnipeg boasts a number of professional sports franchises, including:

Winnipeg’s collegiate teams include the University of Manitoba Bisons, which represent the University of Manitoba in nine different sports on 16 different teams; and the Wesmen, which represent the University of Winnipeg in men’s and women’s volleyball, basketball and soccer.
Winnipeg has also played host to major sporting events, including the 1967 and 1999 Pan American Games, the CFL’s Grey Cup, the World Curling Championships, the Canada Summer Games and the World Junior Hockey Championships.
