POSITION SUMMARY:
Economic Development Winnipeg’s (EDW) mission is to promote and influence economic growth in Winnipeg. The team is made up of passionate Winnipeggers who build connections across our city and diverse industries to lead, facilitate and promote Winnipeg’s economic development and tourism efforts. Reporting to the Talent Services Manager, the Talent & Workforce Development Coordinator supports the Talent & Workforce Development team (a unit within the YES! Winnipeg business development team of Economic Development Winnipeg (EDW), employing a project-based approach when working with various teams. Their role is to always ensure the accuracy and timely delivery of projects to support Economic Development Winnipeg (EDW) efforts, and to enable the pursuit of high-potential business and investment opportunities which contribute meaningfully to the Winnipeg economy.
RESPONSIBILITIES/FUNCTIONS:
- Act as an ambassador for the City of Winnipeg, the Province of Manitoba, and EDW – demonstrating the highest levels of professionalism and integrity.
- Effectively collaborate with Talent Team members when working on tasks and assignments.
- Build strong working relationships with various internal teams and external stakeholders, including government partners, sector organizations, businesses, etc.
- Work with partner organizations to compile information and data relevant to potential opportunities.
- Support the Talent Team by coordinating the execution of key research projects that contribute to business and economic development activity.
- Work with EDW’s Market Intelligence Team to coordinate the effective collection and analysis of data, as it relates to the Talent Team.
- Schedule and facilitate events, meetings, demos and webinars.
- Actively engage with clients to inform them about available talent services and support business development outreach when necessary.
- Coordinate with the Marketing Team to develop, update and adapt marketing assets.
- Conduct research of suitable industry events for participation in and exploration of networking opportunities for the Talent Team.
- Review, maintain, and update content, tools, and resources on the Talent Team services website.
- Coordinate Talent Team reporting requirements, including reports, budgets and dashboards from the CRM.
- Compile content for proposals, presentations, and information packages as well as drafting correspondence and completing documentation.
- Administer the logistics of international and local events, campaigns, and initiatives (in-person or virtual); and
- Collaborate with the Coordinators of other EDW teams (business development, tourism, foreign direct investment, etc.) to support the broader team in delivery of services to clients and partners.

- Strong judgement to know when and how to ask for support or flag potential issues before they manifest.
- Proactive self-starter and action-oriented professional with strong attention to detail.
- Ability to research, analyze, and critically review information.
- Take initiative to plan and complete assigned work with a high level of accuracy.
- Positive attitude and high levels of motivation and energy, dedication, flexibility, creativity, and an ability to understand the ‘big picture’.
- Flexible and willing to adapt roles or responsibilities as required; and
- Willingness and ability to work evenings and travel within Canada and internationally when required.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
- Eligibility to work in Canada is required.
- Post-secondary degree in business, marketing, or related discipline is required.
- Computer literacy/proficiency with Microsoft Office/Office 365 products (Teams, Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel and Word) required.
- Experience with CRM platforms is an asset.
- Experience in event management and organizing job fairs is an asset.
- Experience with Monday.com is an asset; and
- Experience with Beautiful.ai is an asset.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
- Ability to handle work activity involving loads of 5kg but less than 10kg.
- Class 5 driver’s license and access to a vehicle is required.
- Bilingualism/multilingualism is considered an asset; and
- Ability to work full-time hours in-person from the EDW office at 1 Lombard Place in downtown Winnipeg is required.
