BDC Capital Bridge Financing Program

BDC Capital Bridge Financing Program

Canadian start-ups may get matching funds from BDC for a current financing round being raised through qualified existing and/or new investors. To be eligible, companies must be Canadian, backed by a qualified venture capital firm, have raised at least $500,000 in external capital before applying for the program, and be specifically impacted by COVID-19.

Canada Emergency Commercial Rent Assistance program

Canada Emergency Commercial Rent Assistance program

The program will provide forgivable loans to commercial property overs to cover 50% of rent payments from eligible small businesses for April, May, June, July & August. Loans are forgiven if the mortgaged property owner agrees to reduce eligible small business tenants’ rent by at least 75% for April, May, June, July & August and not evict the tenant during the program

Canadian Emergency Response Benefit

Canadian Emergency Response Benefit

A taxable benefit of $2000/ month for up to 4 months. Available to those who are sick, or taking care of the sick, working parents minding children without pay, employed workers who are not being paid due to insufficient work, and self employed, contract, part-time, and seasonal workers who are not eligible for EI. Rules now allow individuals to earn up to $1000 a month and still be eligible.

Canada Emergency Wage Subsidy

Canada Emergency Wage Subsidy

Up to a 75% wage subsidy for employers who have lost at least 15% of their business in March, or 30% in April to August. Up to a 60% wage subsidy for employers who have experienced any revenue drop in September to November.
