Training and Employment Services prepares Manitobans for finding and retaining employment. People looking for help advancing their careers can reach out to any of the province’s Skills Development Centres for assistance with employment needs, job search assistance, and access to computers for conducting and preparing for job searches.

Opportunities for Employment

Opportunities for Employment (OFE) offers free employment services designed to connect job seekers and employers to create long term, sustainable employment. OFE offers a variety of programs and services designed to prepare individuals for an effective job search, upgrade their skills if needed through short-term training, certificates and workshops and connect them with employers who are hiring. Job seekers come to OFE with a variety of skills, education and experience looking for employment from entry-level to professional job opportunities.

OFE also offers job-specific training that prepares participants for work in a specific industry, or even for a specific employer.

Youth Employment Services

Youth Employment Services provides free, inclusive employment services for youth between 16 and 29 years of age. At no cost to clients, they provide skill development and programming to help young workers build a better resume and prepare themselves for their career. Prospective employers can reach out to the organization directly with job opportunities to access their client roster. Over 12,000 youth participate with Youth Employment Services annually.

The Winnipeg Transition Centre (WTC) is a non-profit organization started in 1989 focused on engaging and empowering people to take control of their own career training and employment goals. With over 20 years in providing certified training in the employment/career coaching industry, our experienced staff are committed to your success. In our Reboot Your Career Search services, we work with individuals to create targeted resumes, engaging cover letters, provide interview preparation and career assessments utilizing our online Values & Skills Action Planner. These services are available virtually and are open to all job seekers. Pricing varies based on the required assistance and includes a free 30 minute consultation.

Reaching E-Quality Employment Services (REES)

Reaching E-Quality Employment Services (REES) has helped people (17 and older) with physical disabilities and/or health conditions connect with quality employment since 1989. Their programs include (but are not limited to) one-on-one counselling, workshops, skills training, job opening referrals /employer forums, resume and interview preparation, mock interviews, on-the-job support when required. Virtual services are available upon request. These programs are open to all who identify as having physical disabilities and/or health conditions. Please note that REES offers a full range of services for job seekers who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing and they also offer services to Youth (17-29 years of age).
