Economic Development Winnipeg (EDW) is pleased to announce the appointment of Denise Zaporzan as Chair of its Board of Directors. The change in leadership comes following the conclusion of Bill Parrish, Jr.’s time as Chair; Parrish, Jr. will remain on the board for an additional year as Past Chair.
Zaporzan has been a member of EDW’s Board of Directors since 2020, having most recently held the position of Chair of the Finance Committee. As a Fellow Chartered Professional Accountant (FCPA, FCMA) and the President of Asteria Global Inc., Zaporzan supports clients across diverse business sectors in strategy formulation and integration, finance & accounting, performance management, change leadership, operations and team development. Previously, she was a CFO in privately held and publicly traded environments, where she successfully enjoyed more than 20 years of executive leadership involving financial and strategic planning and mergers and acquisitions.
"I am incredibly honoured to be appointed to the Chair of the Board of Directors position. I want to express my sincere thanks to Bill Parrish, Jr. for his exceptional past board stewardship and leadership,” said Zaporzan. “As the organization continues to drive new economic opportunities, I am excited and committed to building on our momentum and advancing our collective vision toward a prosperous future for Winnipeg."

- Dennis Meeches, President, Tribal Council Investment Group (TCIG)
